Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. will dispatch a team--Team Yokohama EV Challenge to drive a self-made EV car (electric car) to participate in the "2012 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb" held in Colorado on July 8th. . The Yokohama rubber is equipped with a new low-fuel consumption tire brand, "BluEarth", which uses the latest environmentally-friendly technology such as orange oil formula technology. The new product "BluEarth-1" is a combination of zero-emission racing and low-fuel consumption tires. This challenge is based on the theme of "Environment, People, and Society" and is a part of Yokohama Rubber's activities to convey the concept of "BluEarth" to the world. This is the fourth time Yokohama Rubber has participated in the event. The drivers have used the same enthusiasm as the last year, and the EV racing car painted the "BluEarth" color that marked the fastest record in last year's competition. In 2010 and 2011, Yokohama Rubber has set a new record for EV for two consecutive years. This time, the EV+ low fuel consumption tires challenge the world's toughest mountain climbing competition, aiming to achieve "driving fun and environment harmony" and "research and development of electric vehicles." Use tires for the purpose.
Yokohama Rubber also sponsored the "Show Aikawa World Rally Team" led by Aikawa, and provided the "ADVAN A048", the world's flagship brand "ADVAN". The car was developed by TOYOTA MOTORSPORT GmbH and the driver is a world-renowned rally driver - the original player of the Noda.
"Pikes Peak International Hill Climb" is also known as "Rally in the Clouds" and this year is the 90th. The race starts at an altitude of 2,862 meters and travels about 20km to the top of the mountain. The less time is used to win. Since the beginning of this year, the racing roads have all been changed to tarmac, with 156 various corners, and the temperature and weather changes are very strong, which highlights the harshness of the game.
