[Abstract]:
Shandong Yokohama held the fifth "Yokohama Millennium Forest" tree planting activity On July 28th 2016.
This tree planting activity follows the concept of “Building a Native Forest” proposed by Professor Miyawaki (Professor of Plant Ecology/Yokohama National University). On the day of planting tree, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shanghai Yokohama, General Manager Zhang Yuxi of Shandong Yokohama, factory staff and workers and family members planted 10 tree species, 1,316 seedlings in the planting area that of 300 square meters, and most of the planted seedlings are collected and cultivated by the staff of Shandong Yokohama.
Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. has launched the "Yokohama Millennium Forest" campaign since 2007, and plans to plant 500,000 trees at all production sites in Japan and abroad in 2017. In the end of this activity, more than 410,000 trees have been planted at home and abroad, including nearly 50,000 trees planted in China.
